Masai Mara wildlife is on permanent show: large resident herds of animals (zebras, antelopes, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, Thomson's and Grant's gazelles, impalas, topi ) and their predators (lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas…) are prevalent all year round ,These birds are prolific and come in every size and color including common but beautiful ones like the lilac breasted roller and plenty of other large species like eagles.Every July (or sometimes August), the wildebeest travel from Tanzania's Serengeti plains, northwards to the Masai Mara and the Mara River is the final obstacle. The Great Wildebeest Migration is one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. This immense movement only happens between the Serengeti National park in Tanzania and Maasai Mara National reserve in Kenya during July through October. They move majorly in search for greener pastures.
