This park measures 2,600 sq km’s and boasts a concentration of wildlife second only to Ngorongoro Crater. It features an impressive amount and array of bird life and plant life. Situated only 160km’s from Arusha, the park is nestled to the south of the large open grass plains of southern Maasai land. It is named after the Tarangire River, which runs directly through the center of the park and is the only permanent water source for the animals. Along the banks of this river you will find herds of wildebeest (or gnu) and zebra, followed by Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle and many others. Lurking in the background lion and leopard keep a watchful eye on a possible meal. The park offers views of grass and floodplains with impressive baobab and flat topped acacia trees scattered throughout. During the dry season the park may look quite ordinary, but activities continue even more earnestly due to the now increased competition.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Early breakfast then descend into to Ngorongoro Crater for a full day crater tour with packed lunches ascend for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge or Wildlife lodge .

Day 4 Serengeti Ndutu Plains - Olduvai Gorge
After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Olduvai Gorge archaeological site. At Olduvai palaeo-anthropological diggings and discoveries have taken place over many years, by, among others, the famous husband-and-wife team of Louis and Mary Leakey. After leaving Olduvai we will soon be passing through multitudes of wildebeest en route to the renowned Ndutu Area, ideally situated under classic umbrella-thorn acacias in the heart of the southern Serengeti where we spend the afternoon viewing herds of wildebeest/Zebras and predators. Dinner and overnight stay at Serengeti Angata Tented camp

Days 5/6: Serengeti Migration Trails
The next 2days will be spent exploring the grassy plains and woodlands in the area, tracking the massed herds of wildebeest and zebra, witnessing the birth of new calves and trailing predators such as lion, cheetah and hyena on the hunt. The area also teems with other wildlife, including elephants, eland, various gazelle species, Kirk’s dik-dik, giraffe and the elusive leopard. Serengeti Angata Tented camp

The most common plant species in Serengeti are Acacia trees, Acacia tortilis, Acacia Drepanolobium, Kigelia (the Sausage tree). Safaris to Serengeti national park or Africa is mostly fauna (wildlife) especially the big 5 but Serengeti has more to offer than that in the form of flora. The Great Wildebeest Migration is one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. This immense movement only happens between the Serengeti National park in Tanzania and Maasai Mara National reserve in Kenya during July through October. They move majorly in search for greener pastures

Day 7 : Serengeti - Speke bay boat ride
We leave the camp soon after breakfast and proceed to Tanzania via Isebania Border - proceed to Speke bay lodge where you spend the afternoon fishing or taking a boat ride at an extra cost . Speke Bay Lodge is located on the south-eastern shore of Lake Victoria in Tanzania, East Africa. It is 15 kilometres from the Serengeti National Park. Speke Bay is part of Speke Gulf, named after the famous explorer John Hanning Speke, who, in 1858, discovered Lake Victoria to be the source of the Nile. Embraced by savannah, the Lodge looks like a small village, stretched out along the shores of the lake

Day 8 Speke Bay – Masai Mara
Early breakfast then drive to Masai Mara with packed lunches. Game is viewed as we proceed to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 9 /10Masai Mara
Full days spent exploring the park in search of the big 5 and other wild game including the annual wildebeest migration that takes place from July to October . Optional hot air balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures
